Bruce Forgrieve

Co-Founder

Bruce is a Silicon Valley veteran and refugee who created six tech startups before it was cool. He has a background in finance, business development, and creating scalable businesses.

After leaving the venture backed startup world, Bruce took his tech skills to Africa and created Shout-It-Now from a blank piece of paper. This NGO educates, tests, and provides treatment for people dealing with HIV. He retired from Shout in 2022, leaving a legacy of 700 employees and $79 million in funding.

Bruce’s curiosity began in high school with texts like “I’m OK – You’re OK” and “Born to Win.” His mother was never sure if Bruce’s first word was “no” or “why?”.

Dr Kathryn Pahl

Co-Founder

Dr. Pahl spent her early career at Valkenberg Psychiatric Hospital in Cape Town, then served as CEO of Epilepsy South Africa.

She has been a researcher at the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Cape Town, investigating the impact of HIV and AIDS programs in South African schools.

In 2008, Kathy co-founded the revolutionary HIV prevention NPO Shout-it-Now with Bruce Forgrieve.

Dr. Riaan van Zyl

Advisor

Dr. Riaan van Zyl is the Director of the School of Social Work at the University of South Florida. His work on measurement and screening impacted various fields of practice including corrections, education, prevention of behavioral problems in young children, disease related risk reduction and organizational change. In his profession he is a leader in the field of utilizing the best available evidence to solve human problems. He works collaboratively on innovative ways to implement the best answers science provides to help people flourish. Riaan was always intrigued by apparent contradictions in what people believe.

Juanita Caprari

Project Manager

Juanita Caprari is a Coach, Yoga Teacher, Energy Healer, & a Public Relations Practitioner with previous corporate background in the upmarket jewellery industry. Juanita’s 18 years of experience in the jewellery industry in Cape Town, South Africa, crafted her skills in Project Management, Office Administration, Public Relations, Marketing and Sales. Thanks to her Public Relations experience she found a love for writing which led her to the field of Social Media Content Management, Proof Reading, Editing and Content Writing. Juanita’s extensive studies spanning 16 years, and experience in the holistic field, have provided invaluable assistance in the corporate industry. Her teaching was employed by various corporate companies in Cape Town, ranging from a Financial Provider Corporation, a Tourism company, a Tax Auditing Firm and a Private Medical Practice, to provide stress management relief for employees over a period of 12 years. Juanita is purpose driven to facilitate personal and business transformation.
